Motorcyclist Injured After Main Street Crash in Crossville

Crossville, TN (March 18, 2021) Crossville law enforcement as well as emergency workers recently responded to North Main Street in the Underwood Street area where a car crash occurred.

A report later provided by law enforcement states that the driver of a Buick was stopped as the result of heavy traffic when it was rear-ended by the driver of a Victory motorcycle. The motorcyclist incurred injuries in the accident.

Additional details about the crash including what caused the collision and the extent of the damage to the Buick are still under investigation.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration encouragingly has found that the number of motorcyclists killed in crashes dropped from 4,985 in 2018 by approximately 5%. Motorcycle riders and passengers, however, are still one of the most overrepresented categories in vehicular accidents.

While riding a motorcycle can be exhilarating, motorcyclists should still do everything possible to make sure they remain safe while operating a motorcycle. One of the most critical things that riders should do is to avoid engaging in behavior that distracts their attention from safe operation of the motorcycle. It’s also a good idea to maintain a safe and noticeable distance at all times from other vehicles on the road.
