Cumberland County, TN (April 11, 2021) The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office reports that a single vehicle accident is under investigation after it occurred on the evening of April 11th in the 600 block of Tennessee Stone Road. The driver of a Jeep Cherokee is reported to have run off the road, collided with a mailbox, and then struck two trees. A citizen at the scene of the crash told law enforcement that the only name he could obtain from the other motorist was “Jess” before this driver fled the scene. The airbags on the Jeep deployed immediately following the collision and the entire front of the vehicle was left destroyed.

Current data collected by the AAA Foundation shows that there were approximately 737,100 hit and run crashes in the United States in 2015. Some of the steps that you should remember to follow after a crash include making sure to receive a medical evaluation by emergency workers and parking a sufficient distance from other cars on the road. As soon as you can do so safely, you should take plenty of photographs including the damage sustained by your vehicle, the location where the crash occurred, and any additional damage caused by the accident.
