Cumberland County, TN (January 28, 2021) A vehicle crash is reported to have occurred at the exit ramp of the interstate at Peavine Road on January 28th. The accident is reported to have occurred at the 313 eastbound mile marker and as a result traffic was temporarily backed up for a mile or two. Motorists are advised to exercise caution while passing through the area.

The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security reports that in the month of January in 2020, there were 86 car crashes in Cumberland County. A decade earlier in 2010 in the month of January, there were 119 crashes in Cumberland County. Ice and snow contributed to many of these accidents. If you lose control of your vehicle this winter while traveling through Cumberland County or any other part of Tennessee, remember to steer in the direction of the ski so your wheels keep traction. Also, if conditions suddenly grow too bad to continue, do not hesitate to pull off to the side of the road and wait for conditions to improve.
