One Man Killed in Oneida Crash

Oneida, TN (January 10, 2021) A man in Oneida was killed while another motorist was injured after a three-vehicle accident occurred on Onedia’s Albert Street on the evening of January 10th. The driver’s death led to the closure of United States Highway 27 in south Oneida for several hours while the Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated how the accident occurred. The driver of a Jeep Cherokee died after the driver of a Ford Explorer crossed the centerline of Highway 27, collided with a Ford Ranger and then crashed into the Jeep. The Explorer’s driver was injured in the accident, while a juvenile passenger in the Explorer was fortunately not harmed. The driver of the Ranger was also wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was not injured in the collision. Additional details including what caused the crash remain under investigation.
