Driver Crashes Stolen Vehicle Into Police Car in Knoxville

Knoxville, TN (December 2, 2020) A man crashed a stolen vehicle into a police car on the evening of November 2nd. Law enforcement then chased the man through the West Knoxville woods. Knoxville law enforcement reports that a call  was received from someone who spotted the vehicle and a result began following the vehicle on Interstate 40 west.

Knoxville law enforcement ultimately found the vehicle near Gallaher View Road. Knoxville law enforcement continued following the vehicle to the Meridian Apartment Complex on Broome Road. Law enforcement then attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver crashed into a Knoxville Police Department vehicle. The driver and three male passengers then fled the vehicle and ran through the woods by Broome Road. The driver was later arrested and taken into custody. Currently, the driver faces multiple outstanding warrants including auto theft, evading arrest, and leaving the scene of the accident. A more detailed report of the event is pending.
