Crossville, TN (January 11, 2021) Crossville medical workers as well as police responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred late in the afternoon on January 11th on Cook Road in Crossville. The accident involved the driver of a Jeep Renegade who was traveling east when her vehicle exited the road and collided with a power pole. The driver was fortunately not injured in the crash and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Energy workers also responded to the crash site to make repairs to the utility pole.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has found that 39 percent of car occupant fatalities in 2018 occurred in single vehicle accidents. When single vehicle accidents occur, there are often some parties that should be held liable. Some of the most common situations where another party might be responsible for a single vehicle crash include where cargo comes loose from trucks, poorly designed or maintained roads, vehicle defects including braking or steering failure, and other drivers who run motorists off the road and then flee the scene before law enforcement can arrive.
