Motorcyclist Transported to Medical Facility After Cumberland County Crash

Motorcycle8

Cumberland County, TN (November 6, 2020) The Tennessee Highway Patrol as well as medical workers went to the scene of a motorcycle crash on the night of November 6th that occurred on Cumberland County’s Bear Creek Road. Law enforcement states that a Harley Davidson driver was traveling west when he failed to properly navigate a curve in the road. As a result, the motorcycle flipped onto its side and collided with both a fence and pole. Fortunately, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The motorcyclist was transported from the scene of the accident to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the number of motorcyclists killed in 2018 decreased almost from 5% from what it was in 2017. Motorcycle riders, however, are still overrepresented in traffic fatalities. To avoid ending up a fatality, motorcyclists must make sure to follow some important safety precautions. This includes adequately inspecting your bike before each ride and always wearing a helmet.
