shutterstock_1132634303

Knoxville, TN (December 11, 2020) The eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 reopened on December 11th after rescue crews cleaned up debris left by a crash. The accident occurred early that day around 11 a.m. close to mile marker 406 and just short of the Sevierville exit. Sevierville law enforcement states that a Lifestar helicopter transported one person injured at the scene and that the number of people involved in the crash is still not certain. Additional details about the crash including what caused it are still uncertain. Motorists are advised to exercise caution while traveling through the area.

The Driver Knowledge website reports that 3 million individuals in the United States are injured in car crashes each year. While injuries can range from not serious to life-changing, some of the most common injuries incurred in car crashes include whiplash, broken bones, punctured organs, and soft tissue damage.
