shutterstock_41462359

Knox County, TN (November 15, 2020) One man was killed while another was injured following a head-on collision between a motorcycle and car that occurred on Norris Freeway in Knox County on November 15th. Based on early reports the driver of a Saturn L32 was traveling north on Norris Freeway while the driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south. The Saturn’s driver crossed into the path of the motorcyclist and both vehicles collided head-on and exited the road into the tree lines. The motorcyclist was killed in the accident while the motor vehicle driver was injured and currently faces charges.

Data compiled by the Insurance Information Institute reveals that 3,471 deadly head on collisions occurred in 2017. This represented 10.1% of deadly car crashes that occurred in 2017. Head-on collisions occur for countless reasons, but some of the most common reasons for these accidents include drunk driving, fatigued drivers, or distracted drivers. Because these accidents often involve the full force of vehicles positioned against one another, the required force to stop these collisions and the resulting damage are often substantial.

Speak with an Experienced Motorcycle Accident Attorney

Motorcyclists are not always to blame for motorcycle crashes. Instead, drivers often cause serious motorcycle crashes because they cannot see motorcyclists.
