Driver Narrowly Avoids Injury Following Interstate 40 Crash in Putnam County

Putnam County, TN (November 22, 2020) A driver recently avoided being injured in a single vehicle crash that occurred on the afternoon of November 22nd on Interstate 40 in eastern Putnam County. Law enforcement states that the driver of a Buick Lacrosse was traveling east close to the 294 mile marker when she lost control of her vehicle, left the road, and collided with multiple trees. Fortunately, the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. Due to the accident, traffic was backed up for several hours.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has found that in about 9 percent of crashes, the event that led to the crash was loss of control of the vehicle.
