Charges Following Vehicle Chase and Crash
Greeneville, TN (January 19, 2021) Charges are currently pending against a Greeneville woman who attempted to escape the Tusculum police on the afternoon of January 19th on Ripley Island Road. The woman was speeding in a Honda Accord on US 11 East when law enforcement attempted to stop her. The driver fled police and turned onto Ripley Island Road. The woman then crashed her vehicle while navigating a curve in the 900 block of Ripley Island Road. The woman’s vehicle then went off the road and collided with a tree stump. As a result of the collision, the motorist ended up incurring minor injuries and was transported by Greene County-Greeneville EMS to Johnson City Medical Center. An update about the woman’s condition is not readily available. Law enforcement later discovered that the license plate on the Honda was registered to a different vehicle. Tusculum law enforcement charged the drivers with several offenses including felony evading arrest and felony drug charges.
