Seven Person Crash Occurs in Jackson County

CarAccident5

Jackson County, TN (March 7, 2021) Seven people were injured due to a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on the afternoon of March 7th in Jackson County. The accident occurred on South Grundy Quarles Highway close to the intersection of Old Gainesboro Highway. Among the seven people who were injured in the crash, one individual was transported by medical helicopter to a trauma center while the other six individuals were transported by emergency medical service to Cookeville Regional Medical Center. At this time, the crash is still under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Motorists are advised to exercise caution while passing through the area given the likelihood that debris remains.

In 2020, Jackson County saw 72 vehicular crashes including 40 that resulted in property damage, 29 accidents involving injuries, and 3 crashes involving fatalities. To avoid becoming one of these numbers, motorists should remember to follow some important pieces of safety advice, which includes never speeding, eliminating all distractions, and always wearing a seatbelt.
