Kingsport, TN (December 23, 2020) A single vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 26 West close to Kingsport on December 23rd that temporarily impacted traffic in the area. According to a traffic report, law enforcement was alerted to a crash with injuries close to mile marker 7 around 12:42 in the afternoon. Due to the crash, law enforcement advised that motorists seek alternate routes.

The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety has found that 53 percent of motor vehicle fatalities are the result of single-vehicle crashes. An even larger number of injuries occur each year due to single vehicle accidents. One of the best things that you can do to avoid ending up in a single vehicle accident is to be cautious about your driving habits. It also helps to stay alert and cautious while operating a vehicle. Furthermore, you should make sure to limit distractions while driving. Also, remember that hands-free technology isn’t necessarily safe. Data received this way can still distract drivers and take their attention off the road.
