Oak Ridge Accident Shuts Down Traffic Lanes

shutterstock_1300480114

Knoxville, TN (November 4, 2020) Based on a report provided by the Oak Ridge Police Department, both lanes of Edgemoor Road at Centennial Boulevard were temporarily closed on the afternoon of November 4th due to a vehicle crash. As a result of the collision, law enforcement advised motorists to avoid the area until the site could be cleared and reopened. The cause of the crash as well as the extent of the damages involved still remain uncertain.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that the economic damage caused by car crashes is substantial. For accidents that occurred in 2017, the cost of medical care and productivity losses associated with both injuries and deaths from car crashes was greater than $75 billion. Victims are often faced with countless bills for medical care and costs associated with repairing vehicles. Making these damages even more devastating is that many injuries can disrupt a car crash victim’s quality of life and many make it impossible to promptly return to work.
