Crossville, TN (October 7, 2020) A car accident occurred on October 7th on the corner of Elmore and Livingston Road. Additional details about the accident including what caused it and whether anyone was injured remain uncertain. Motorists who were passing through the area were advised to exercise caution.

Crossville is the county seat of Cumberland County, which saw 1,380 car crashes in 2019. Troublingly, this number marks an increase from 2009 when the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security reports that Cumberland County saw 1,144 car crashes. So far, 381 car crashes involved property damage only, 134 crashes involved injuries, and 8 accidents involved fatalities.

One of the best ways to avoid ending up in a Tennessee car accident is to take some preventative steps to avoid collisions. Some of the best preventative steps that drivers should make sure to follow include maintaining a three-second distance from other vehicles on the road, scanning 12 seconds ahead of where your vehicle is currently located, always keeping at least one hand on the steering wheel, and remaining observant of red light runners.
