Car Crash in Rhea County Leads to Injuries

shutterstock_1017220168

Rhea County, TN (November 10, 2020) The Tennessee Highway Patrol as well as emergency medical workers responded to a car crash on the night of November 10th in Rhea County. Law enforcement states that the driver of a 2007 Chevy was traveling west on Highway 30 when the vehicle crossed the centerline of traffic close to Cranmore Cove Road and collided with an oncoming Nissan Frontier. Both drivers were later transported to the hospital as a result of injuries incurred in the crash. Charges are currently pending against the driver of the Chevy.

The Federal Highway Administration has found that wrong way driving accidents result in the deaths of 300 to 400 individuals each year. While this number is a small portion of the number of car crash deaths, when wrong way deaths occur it is important to understand that they are often devastating because they frequently involve head-on or sideswipe collisions. An even large number of people are impacted each year by wrong way driving accidents. If you notice a wrong-way driver headed towards your vehicle, the best strategy that you can take is to slow down and move as far to the right as possible.
