Michael C. Beehan

“Every client we represent is facing a difficult moment—and it’s a privilege to stand by their side, help them navigate the legal system, and fight for the justice they deserve.”
— Michael Beehan

Professional Background

Michael Beehan joined Fox, Farley, Willis & Burnette in January 2016. His practice is focused on serious personal injury, products liability, auto wrecks, motorcycle wrecks, trucking wrecks, slip and fall (premises liability), and wrongful death cases. Known for his strategic mindset and compassionate approach, Michael represents individuals and families with the same passion and care he would his own.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Michael worked as an English teacher in Mexico and then as a Director of Human Resources for an engineering company in Oak Ridge. Michael had the privilege of working with great people in both of those jobs that helped him build skills that have benefited his legal career. As a result of living and working in Mexico, Michael is fluent in Spanish.

Determined to pursue his passion for the law, Michael attended evening classes at Lincoln Memorial University – Duncan School of Law, while working full time during the day. While in law school, he served as President of the Moot Court Board and the Immigration Law Association and interned for the Honorable Justice Gary Wade at the Tennessee Supreme Court. One of his most rewarding experiences during that time was volunteering at legal clinics at Centro Hispano de East Tennessee, where he assisted Spanish-speaking clients with immigration and civil legal issues.

Community Involvement

Michael is passionate about mentorship, education, and giving back to his local community. Through the Tennessee Promise program, he volunteers as a mentor to high school students—helping them navigate the college application process and encouraging academic achievement. Michael also volunteers with the United Way of Anderson County by working on fund distribution committees. This involves visiting local nonprofits to listen to presentations and making a funding recommendation to United Way. Michael is also on the board of Together Podemos, an Oak Ridge nonprofit with a vision of helping the Spanish speaking community integrate into the Oak Ridge community.

His early work abroad and in the nonprofit space continues to influence his legal perspective today, especially when working with immigrant families and underserved communities.

Personal Life

Michael grew up in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and is happy that life led him back to his hometown. Michael is forever grateful for the opportunity he had to teach English in Mexico, especially since he met his wife, Lissie, while living there. He and Lissie are now raising their two children in Oak Ridge. Michael enjoys spending quality time with his family. As a former college athlete in football and track, Michael continues to feed that competitive spirit by attending CrossFit classes. One of his favorite parts of CrossFit is the annual CrossFit Open competition, where he gets to compete against athletes from all over the world. Another of Michael’s passions is cooking, especially if it involves tacos, salsa, or any other Mexican dish.
