Professional Background

Lauren Scieszinski brings more than 17 years of legal experience to her role as an associate attorney at Fox, Farley, Willis & Burnette, with much of her background rooted in high-stakes courtroom litigation. Her career reflects a consistent focus on serving individuals with empathy, skill, and strategic determination—qualities that align closely with the firm’s mission of helping good people through difficult times.

Lauren earned her Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, where she was actively involved in the Criminal Defense Clinic. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She is licensed to practice law in both Tennessee and Iowa.

Before entering private practice, Lauren served as a prosecutor for the State of Tennessee for nearly thirteen years, building extensive trial and litigation experience. Her public service roles included:

  • Assistant District Attorney General – Prosecuted a wide range of criminal cases, including DUIs, violent crimes, and homicides.
  • Deputy Regional General Counsel – Represented the Department of Children’s Services (DCS) in child custody matters, including dependency and neglect, severe child abuse, and termination of parental rights.

Throughout her public service career, Lauren gained a reputation for courtroom excellence, case strategy, and effective negotiation. She is experienced at every phase of litigation—from initial filings through appeals—and brings that depth of knowledge to each client she represents.

In private practice, Lauren has worked on a variety of civil and criminal matters, including:

  • Divorce and child custody
  • Dependency and neglect
  • Criminal defense
  • Wills, probate, and estate planning

Her broad legal background allows her to offer practical, well-rounded counsel and personalized support to individuals and families facing complex legal challenges.
